Autism Friendly Champions
We are proud to partner with Autism Friendly Dungarvan to make the festival welcoming, inclusive and accessible for everyone. We have a range of events designed to be autism-friendly and sensory inclusive, we have dedicated parking for guests with additional needs, operate a quiet hour each morning and have a fast track system.
Autism Friendly Activities
Throughout our brochure and website the autism-friendly symbol identifies where accommodations have been made to meet the needs of autistic people, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all festival-goers.
Accessible Parking
Dedicated parking spaces are available for guests with additional needs in the Glanbia Car Park, Lower Main St, Dungarvan.
These spaces are conveniently located near to the markets (Saturday on the quay, Sunday in the square) and family events which take place in and around Dungarvan Castle.
Fast Track System
Stall holders will operate a fast track access system for those with additional needs.
Individuals with a sunflower lanyard, carers card, or those supported by As I Am can move to the top of the queue where the Fast Track sign is displayed.
Quiet Hour
Daily: 10am to 11am
For guests who prefer a low-arousal environment, our quiet hour is where noise and distractions are minimised for a calmer, more regulated experience.
Social Stories
We are pleased to offer Social Stories for our autism-friendly events. These are designed to help people with additional needs to understand social cues, manage expectations and anticipate causes of anxiety at events. Sensory Express Bus
The Sensory Express Bus is a mobile, fully wheelchair-accessible “sensory room on wheels” designed to provide a calming, therapeutic environment for neurodivergent individuals and people with sensory needs. It is located by Dungarvan Castle and will be available on Saturday and Sunday, from 10am-4pm. More information about the bus is available on our Event Page.
