Across Waterford, there are wonderful food and drink experiences waiting to be discovered.
Taste Waterford is a county-wide initiative that celebrates the producers, growers, chefs, hospitality businesses and food champions who make Waterford such a special place to eat and drink. Managed by the Waterford Festival of Food team, Taste Waterford connects people with the rich food culture of the county through events, tours and experiences for both the public and the food industry.
Some say it’s our location. Waterford’s food flourishes in rich farmland, along sandy shores and sheltered valleys, protected by the Comeragh Mountains and shaped by the sea breeze and mild climate.
But it’s not just the landscape that makes our food exceptional.
Waterford has long been a place of connection and exchange. Through the Port of Waterford – once one of the busiest trading ports in Europe – new flavours, spices and traditions arrived from across the world. Over generations, these influences blended with local ingredients and skills to create the vibrant food culture that exists here today.
From Comeragh lamb to the famous Waterford Blaa, from artisan producers to award-winning restaurants, the county is home to a community of passionate food makers and hosts.
Through Taste Waterford, you can experience this food culture first-hand – meeting the people behind the produce, visiting local businesses, and hearing the stories that shape Waterford’s food today.
